Adaptive reuse of heritage building promotes urban renewal
MPC Planning is pleased to have assisted the Directors of Unlimited Potential Realty to obtain resource consent and redevelop a near derelict telephone exchange in Dilworth Avenue, Remuera into modern character offices.
MPC Planning initially provided due diligence advice on the ability to obtain consent for offices within a former telephone exchange building constructed in 1915. The building was in a run-down state, with leaking roof, boarded up windows and overgrown vegetation.
A Discretionary Activity consent obtained from Auckland Council by MPC Planning for the conversion of the building into commercial offices has enabled Unlimited Potential Reality to realise its dreams for its own offices with a high profile on Dilworth Avenue and Remuera Road.
We are delighted to have been involved in this exemplary redevelopment, which demonstrates the benefits of adaptive reuse of heritage buildings that are languishing within our urban fabric.
